Started by going to games and trying to get guys to sign, but I really got into it by going to the baseball HOF in 1993 to see Reggie get inducted.
When I was little and started getting into sports heavily, especially baseball, I tried to go to games to get autographs. Then, I went to the mall to find Todd Zeile doing a free public signing. After that, I found that I really liked the hobby and eventually found the hobby of collecting autographs through the mail as well.

I has only been collecting cards for a couple months- I went to a minor lg game and picked up a team set from the gift shop. As I was milling around, i noticed players signing. I was like "Whoa, I have this guys card right here" and so it began. I remember going home and looking through my sparce MLB card collection and pulling a couple more to get signed later. Good stuff.

Been collecting cards since before I remember, but got into TTM when looking at graphing sites.

I got some autographs at my first few Cubs games a few years ago, then got season tickets to the Rochester red wings last year and started getting some top prospects to sign. It's fun and it brings a sorta thrill that card collecting kinda lacks for me, basically any card u want u can buy but getting the graphs in person is much more fun. Can be a challenge sometimes as well!

Same here with TTM graphing. When we were little, my brother and I would get baseballs signed with as many players as possible on them. Then when we saw people getting cards signed, we just got really intrigued and started doing it. I think our very first autograph on cards was C.C. Sabathia at a signing at local car dealership.

my mom told us about how she sent letters to buzz aldrin and Jimmy Carter when she was a kid, i thought it would be cool to send leters asking for autographs too, so i sent some, received some, and then i started to really enjoy the hobby of autographs.

I don't even remember how I got into TTM. I know my 1st return was Graig Nettles, and I though it was awesome- but I don't remember where I got the addy. I assume it was printed in a magazine or something. TTM for me has was on and off for years. I would literally go years without a request out (Lots of IP took precidence, lol). I've really stepped it up the last 4 years or so.

I befriended the legend known as KidK and I decided to wait with him before the Crosstown Classic at Wrigley about two years ago... and that, as they say, is that.

I got Ryan Dempster's auto on a card at a Cubs Rockies game in Denver in 2007 and when I got back home I google imaged "Ryan Dempster autographs" and the first choice was a TTM website, I thought it looked fun and I decided tosend 5 requests out that next day. After a week I received my first success, Jon Lieber, c/o the Cubs. After that I told myself I would send out maybe two or three requests a month, that didn't happen. The rest is histoy.....

Its like Mozart and Butch Cassidy, if you mess with Mozart, you'll get a bullet in your brain, courtesy of Butch Cassidy.

I started when the card market took a dump... mid 80's the cards were worthless so what better to do with them then to get them signed!
